About Me

For as long as I can remember, I've been a storyteller.  In the woods of rural Virginia, my little sister and I would devise epic quests we'd set off on to save the world and come home covered in mud and leaves. 

My family shared a great love of movies, which fueled my childhood dream of becoming a great film director. But one damp spring morning, I finished Bioshock Infinite. I sat there criss-cross-applesauce, mouth agape in that spider-filled basement and decided that somehow someway, I had to make video games instead. 

I've spent the last 10 years in the game industry at prestigious studios like Night School Studio, Bethesda Softworks, and Jam City, getting to do what I truly love: Game Design. My experience and passion for writing and cinematography have aided me in telling world-class stories in this still unexplored medium.

Level Designer / Scripter

June 2022 - Present

​Level Designer at Night School Studio and Netflix working on a super secret unannounced project! 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Designed immersive levels and gameplay sequences from concept through greybox to
    shippable quality.

  • Adapted narrative scripts into a playable format using proprietary scripting tools in-engine.

  • Positioned and animated 3D cameras to convey tone, clarity, and interest in story scenes.

  • Worked in constant communication with writers and artists to maintain a cohesive vision.

  • Prototyped out-of-the-box and unique gameplay experiments using existing design systems.

  • Sought out feedback, both internally and through playtests, to iterate and enhance levels.

Game Designer

July 2021 - June 2022

Game Designer for interior design game Playhouse from the women-led startup Robin Games.

Responsibilities:

  • Designed gameplay features with specification documents detailing functionality.

  • Created and implemented levels of varying difficulty on a daily release basis.

  • Designed and implemented all 10 tutorial projects, which hold a 90%+ completion rate.

  • Oversaw upcoming project calendar to ensure gameplay variety and cohesion.

Associate Game Designer II

June 2020 - July 2021

Associate Game Designer at Jam City working on Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Responsibilities:

  • Used proprietary tools in Maya to layout characters, props, and cameras for levels.

  • Wrote documentation for new processes and specifications for feature designs.

  • Exchanged and implemented feedback within the Design team to ensure a best final product.

  • Utilized passion for cinema and the HP Universe to create a magical player experience.

DLC Tester

July 2019 - June 2020

DLC Story tester on the Top 25 hit game Choices: Stories You Play from Pixelberry Studios. My responsibilities included: 

  • Reviewed scripts for grammar bugs, continuity issues, and logistical coding errors.

  • Prioritized and ran passes for multiple chapters on a weekly release schedule.

  • Tuned the transitions, music, backgrounds, and story details for an enjoyable player experience.

Game Design Intern

January 2019 - April 2019

Level designer on Arcane Showdown by Big Huge Games. My responsibilities included:

  • Designed and implemented battle maps in Unity using proprietary tools.

  • Wrote specification documents detailing player progression, economy, and UI.

  • Balanced and implemented quests; descriptions, goals, and rewards.

  • Designed, implemented, and scheduled all events that ran during Beta.

  • Utilized Unity Animations and proprietary tools to implement all SFX in the game.

QA Tester

May 2018 - January 2019

Tester on Arcane Showdown and the smash hit Dominations from Big Huge Games.

Responsibilities:

  • Wrote and completed test cases, documented issues, and ensured build stability.

  • Designated liaison between the Design and QA team for DomiNations.

  • Established processes as a fundamental member of the Arcane Showdown QA team.
